Anya Pesce is an Australian born, Sydney based artist.
Her practice explores the concepts around contemporary painting with a focus on surface, as this is the external skin that captures the essence of the themes explored in her work. They include: desire, perfection and consumerism.
Excess-fetish obsessions with fashion, desire and consumption manifests in the work aesthetically through the glossy exterior. Working with polymethyl methacrylate, the forms are individually hand moulded which mimic fabric and reference the body. The forms become a fusion of visual and experienced phenomena.
Anya Pesce is represented by .M Contemporary Gallery, Sydney Pesce completed MFA at National Art School in 2017 and has exhibited both nationally and internationally.
